What is Booth?
Carnegie Mellon University hosts an annual Spring Carnival that is open to all of Pittsburgh. Student Organizations compete to build the best Booth on campus. As one of Asian Students Association's Booth Chairs, I've helped design and build these award-winning exhibits for four years. The job of a Booth Chair demands intense physical strain, mental endurance and emotional commitment. Booth has been my pride and joy. It is my pleasure to share my experience with you.
Marvel Booth 2010
This year, our theme was "History with a Twist." We decided to take our favorite Marvel Superheroes and Villains and set them in World War II. The result was a mix between a comic book universe and a real world battle zone that you could touch, feel and hear.

PokeBooth 2009The Carnival theme this year was "Epic Adventures." We chose to take Carnival-goers on an epic journey to the Pokemon Universe. We paid close attention to details, keeping the Booth true to the Pokemon Franchise. The result was an unprecedented first place that earned us the highest score in the University, surpassing all other categories and competitors.

Atlantis Booth 2008The theme was "Extra Extra Read All About It!" In our Booth, Carnival-goers went on a submarine journey to find Atlantis. Along the way, they would find many Atlantean fish and creatures. After finding Atlantis, they returned home spreading the great news!

Monopoly Booth 2007The theme was "Small Things Made Big." Our Booth took board games and made them life size. Visitors walked through the Booth as their own "game piece!" This Booth secured 1st place for ASA for the fourth year in a row.
