The TEA Summit is one of the most prestigious gatherings for the Theme Entertainment industry - it's pretty much the Oscars for Theme Park people! This year - I had the honor of being of the official photographer for the Themed Entertainment Association. It was quite rigorous job - taking photos of so many important people. Hey guys! In March - I was at the Discovery Cube LA for 3 days working on the final installation of the LA Kings exhibit. I was hired by BaAM Productions to be a "set dresser" for the exhibit. I have never been hired for a "set dresser" before - but I've build trade shows and houses - so how hard could it be? A LOT HARDER THAN I THOUGHT! There was a lot of physical labor and carpentry skills involved - I went home sore everyday.
For this job - I was in charge of securing a bunch of props and equipment down so that children would take them or ruin them. It's something you don't really notice when you go through the exhibit - and if I did my job when - you should be noticing my work at all! The picture above is from the LA Kings website. My handiwork is featured on the front page! I had to organize and sort all the equipment, arrange them on the grid and finally secure everything with metal and plastic zip ties. It's been a while since I've done an install and done actual physical labor. I enjoyed every moment of it! My supervisors were awesome - and I loved my co-workers. I really respect their skills and effort into putting this together. Here is the link to the LA Kings article (link) Business wire article (link) Thank you so much to BaAm Productions and Discovery Cube LA for granting me this great opportunity! Thank you to my supervisors - Christine, Gary and Vince! Shoutout to my co-workers! Hello everyone! This will be a blog that is dedicated to my themed entertainment actives. I will be creating posts about my professional work - as well as personal actives that are related to themed entertainment. Enjoy!
